Asset workbench and collaboration
The Canvas asset workbench corresponds to characters, locations and props in project Settings. It is not a completely independent copy. Understand synchronization and deletion before reorganizing assets.
Linked asset nodes
Prompts synchronize between Settings and corresponding Canvas asset nodes. Dragging an asset out of the workbench creates a linked node whose current image and history remain synchronized.
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Change the current image or inspect history in a linked node | The workbench asset remains linked |
| Delete the dragged-out linked node | The original workbench asset remains |
| Delete the original workbench asset | Its linked nodes are also deleted |
Add or update assets
- Right-click an image to add it as a character, scene or prop, either as a main appearance or a variant.
- Drag one or more images onto an existing main appearance to create variants as prompted.
- Drag onto a new-asset placeholder to create a main asset.
- Apply an image node to an existing character, scene or prop to replace that asset's current image.
Main and episode canvases
Workflow-linked canvases correspond to episodes; standalone projects can create sub-canvases manually. Assets added to a sub-canvas appear in the main workbench. Copying main-canvas assets to a sub-canvas adds them there; the asset's Episode appearances field also controls association.
Shot sequences
Create a shot-sequence module, drag video nodes into it and arrange their order. In workflow-linked episode canvases, sequence video nodes synchronize with the Storyboards page.
Removing a node from the sequence affects the shot
Dragging a shot video out of a workflow-linked episode sequence onto empty canvas deletes the corresponding shot from Storyboards. Export or confirm your backup approach first; this is not merely a visual rearrangement.
Correct remaster assets
Drag an asset onto another to merge duplicates or create a variant as prompted. Drag a variant to a new-main-appearance placeholder to separate it into its own main asset. Verify original-character mapping and episode appearances before merging.
Collaborate
Team members can see node moves and deletions in real time. While one person edits a node, it is locked for others to avoid simultaneous changes.
Divide work by asset or canvas area. Check who is editing a shared node and wait for their edit to finish if it is locked. The current guide lists node comments and color labels as future features; do not depend on them for the present workflow.
Start with an empty asset
You can create an asset in an empty area of the asset workbench, select a main image or outfit, and then configure its image. An existing finished image node is not required. Check the name, category and associated episodes afterward. Assets created in a child canvas also appear in the main canvas's asset workbench.
