Canvas essentials
Canvas organizes text, images, videos, audio and 3D material as connected nodes. It helps explore alternatives while keeping generation relationships visible. Canvas is enabled by default in CoolShowAI; no separate application is required.
Three entry points
| Entry | Opens |
|---|---|
| Home → Inspiration Studio (灵感片场) → Create Canvas Project | A standalone blank canvas |
| Project Settings → Enter Canvas Editing (进入画布编辑) | The global canvas linked to project assets |
| Storyboards → Enter Canvas Editing | The episode canvas linked to that episode's shot sequence |
Interface overview
Use the upper-left selector to switch between the main canvas and episode canvases. Standalone projects can create sub-canvases. The asset list searches by node type and supports locating, renaming and duplicating nodes.
The lower toolbar includes undo, redo, tools, generation history and adding nodes. Lower-right controls include zoom, fit-to-screen, connection visibility, alignment and the minimap.
Navigate the canvas
- Pan with the middle mouse button or trackpad.
- In Hand mode, the wheel zooms. In Move mode, it scrolls vertically; Ctrl + wheel zooms.
- Double-click a node to focus it. Use fit-to-screen or the minimap when you lose your position.
- Restore results from generation history instead of submitting the same generation again.
Create your first connected nodes
Double-click empty space, use the context menu or the lower + button to add text, image, video, audio or 3D nodes. Start with a clear character reference, create a video node, reference the character and describe a simple action.
Hover over a node's right-side + to create a connected node, or drag a connection to an existing node. Select a connection to reveal the cut control, then disconnect it. Connections establish references; still check the target prompt and reference list.
Scope of global settings
Standalone canvases can set default style, video resolution and ratio. Defaults apply only to newly created nodes. Existing nodes do not change automatically; inspect their settings individually or through applicable batch operations.
Continue with Nodes and batch operations and Asset workbench and collaboration.
Return to the previous view
Reopening a canvas restores its previous viewport. If a node is outside that view, locate it in the asset list or use fit-to-screen before creating a duplicate. A node's upper upload area and lower prompt/parameter area serve different purposes. After linking a reference, confirm the destination actually uses it.
